Group Head of Reward

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Group Head of Reward to join our People Leadership team and play a vital role in helping us develop and execute a best-in-class reward strategy.
This role can work on a hybrid basis at our Manchester or London office.
What will you be doing in this role?
As our Group Head of Reward, you will support the Chief People Officer and work with our People Leadership team to design, develop, and execute a total reward strategy for the Tunstall Group. You’ll also lead on core reward activities including; sales incentives, executive compensation, bonuses, benefits, recognition, pensions, governance, and national & international mobility.
This is a new position for us, so you will have the ability to help define, shape, and implement our global reward strategy.

Some of your key day to day tasks will be…
Strategy:
- Ensuring the group reward strategy is aligned with group business strategy and that it reinforces company culture and values.
Budget and Reporting:
- Making sure reward requirements are measured and managed through technology, with metrics in place to understand strengths and opportunities,
- Monitors and analyses market trends and evaluates external competitiveness to drive rewards strategy,
- Contributes to the definition and monitoring of the Rewards D&I KPIs Dashboard (e.g.: Pay Equity Ratio, etc…),
- Prepares and submits status reports on current situation to Group level to foster the development of compensation programs,
- Monitors performance against approved budget and ensures compliance with group budget guidelines,
- Presents findings for final approval to the board of directors.
Collaboration:
- Working closely with Group and Regional Directors to regularly benchmark the reward offering to ensure competitiveness,
- Build strong working relationships across the business with key stakeholders and act as the point of contact for all compensation, benefits, and wellbeing framework for the business globally,
- Advising HR business partners and UK’s senior leadership team regarding reward queries and decisions, including the development of reward offers for senior recruits and promotions,
- Communicate results of the reward process to provide clarity and transparency of the reward situation/ structure,
- Conducts regular Reward trainings sessions for Group and local people teams to ensure awareness and transparency of Reward policies and practices both Group and local.
Operations:
- Responsible for salary and bonus reviews, all benchmarking initiatives including managing annual compensation survey submissions, manage benefit renewals, as well as maintaining external stakeholder relationships with external brokers and vendors, etc,
- Lead the implementation of the annual pay review cycle and management bonus plan across the group,
- Leading on the development of the policy design and reward framework,
- Review of the competitiveness of the benefits “portfolio” and develops the benefits packages further,
- Local job evaluation of new and revised positions, to ensure the compliance with Group guidelines and organisational models,
- Audit evaluation of jobs internally to ensure wage and salary rate recommendations in line with group policy and local legal requirements,
The Ideal candidate:
To be successful in this role you will have significant proven experience in developing and implementing a group reward strategy and performance management philosophy and system in a global business, across EMEA. You will be a proactive, exceptional people leader, with superb communication skills, both verbal and written, and a high emotional intelligence. The ability to work to tight timescales, and work independently or as part of a team is vital to the success of this role.
Key skills and experience:
- Proven experience of implementing a group reward strategy in a global business, across EMEA
- Experience in the design and implementation of reward policies and processes
- Demonstrable experience of working effectively within a matrix organisation
- Experience of managing pensions and benefits
- Excellent knowledge of job evaluation methodologies
- Ability to work strategically and operationally
- Be a self-starter and a brilliant people leader, have high emotional intelligence to understand your audience with a can-do attitude
- Have initiative and be creative with experience of leading programmes of work from inception to delivery
- Have exceptional stakeholder relationship skills and have the ability to build strategic partnerships
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders
- Able to deliver to tight timescales
- Proven ability to work with diverse and remote teams
- Analytical and able to work with large datasets
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
- Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
