Compliance Coordinator

We are recruiting a Compliance Coordinator to join our Quality team based out of our Whitley (DN14 0HR) location. This is a site-based role.

What will you be doing in this role?
The Compliance Coordinator focuses primarily on EHS compliance, whilst also providing structured support to Quality activities, internal audits and data gathering (KPIs), ensuring compliance with legislation, ISO standards and internal procedures.
The Ideal candidate:
We are looking for someone with experience in environment health and safety. Any experience with quality matters would be valuable but not essential.

Key skills and experience:
• Experience in a compliance, EHS, quality or regulatory support role.
• Working knowledge of EHS compliance processes and risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience supporting or co-ordinating internal audits.
• Ability to manage, analyse and report KPI and performance data.
• Experience working with controlled documentation systems or QMS platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a structured, process driven environment.

Desirable skills and experience
• NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent EHS qualification.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 standards.
• Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or operational environment.
• Experience preparing audit evidence for external certification or regulatory audits.
• Familiarity with Q-Pulse or similar compliance eQMS systems.
• Experience producing dashboards or reports using Microsoft Office applications or business
• Reporting tools.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Environmental, Health & Safety (Primary Focus – site based)
• Support day-to-day EHS compliance activities across manufacturing, office, field and operational
• environments.
• Assist with the implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Support completion, review and tracking of:
• o Risk assessments, e.g. General, COSHH, DSEAR, Manual Handling.
• o Incident, Near-miss, and Hazard reporting.
• o Corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs).
• Assist with EHS training co-ordination, records, and competency tracking
• Support maintenance of the EHS Management System in line with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Quality Support Activities
• Provide administrative and co-ordination support including:
• o Document control and change management.
• o Nonconformance and deviation tracking.
• o Corrective action follow-up.
• Support maintenance of the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001.
• Assist with ensuring records are accurate, current, and readily available for audits and inspections.
Internal Audits & Compliance Monitoring
• Support the planning, co-ordination and tracking of internal audits (Quality, EHS and integrated
• audits).
• Assist auditors with:
• o Evidence gathering.
• o Audit documentation.
• o Action tracking and closure.
• Support preparation for external audits, regulatory inspections, and customer audits.
• Track audit findings and ensure timely escalation of overdue actions.
KPI Management & Reporting
• Support the operation of the KPI management system for Quality and EHS.
• Collect, validate, and maintain KPI data, e.g. Incidents, audit performance, training compliance,
• CAPAs.
• Prepare KPI dashboards, trend analysis, and reports.
• Support regular KPI reporting to the Quality Manager.
• Assist in identifying trends, risks and improvement opportunities based on KPI performance.
Systems & Administration
• Maintain compliance records within the organisations eQMS/management system.
• Support document control, version management, periodic reviews, and records retention.
• Ensure accurate data entry, reporting integrity and audit trail completeness.
• Assist with management review inputs and compliance reporting packs.
